Planning a holiday

When going on a holiday, there's usually two options of whether to plan your own itinerary or engage a travel agent to have everything arranged for you from flight tickets to accommodation. It is undeniable that tour agents are a big help especially for busy people who have no time to arrange their holiday and wish to just purchase a package where everything is included. Hence, there are many tour agents thriving despite the online purchasing of air tickets. It's still different as though buying air tickets is not much of  hassle, choosing good accommodation and planning out places to visit during the trip needs a lot of planning.

Going on a tour is good in the sense that everything is planned out, and you don't have to think where to go, where to eat and so forth. All the schedules are planned out for you. Some downsides of these are that you won't get to spend much time on places that you may like to stay longer as you have to follow their schedule. Since many destinations are on the schedules, they have to keep to it and hence, you may find it a bit hectic and tiring.
Nevertheless, even if you have the time to plan, it is good to go on a planned tour if you are unfamiliar with the country. It reduces the risk of messing up by getting lost and it is also safer.

If you're planning to visit a country that you are familiar with, especially in terms of language, for example Australia, going on your own is not a bad idea too. It will not be so hectic and you can choose wherever you want to go during the trip. Moreover, in most developed countries, the public transportation like buses and trains are really efficient and not very expensive too. However, hotels of comparable quality to our country are really expensive as services in developed countries pay high wages too. However, service apartments are not bad and the pricing is quite reasonable. Most apartments also include a kitchen with all the basic utensils and all other basic facilities as well.

Choosing between engaging a tour agent or planning your own itinerary is purely individual's choice. Some people prefer to have everything arranged while some like to explore further and plan out their own trip :) The most important thing is to plan ahead of any trip and find out what to expect of the trip to avoid disappointment.

Getting the best deals to New York

Flying to a destination that is hundreds or even thousands of miles away can cost you a bomb. However, that should not stop you from making business trips, vacation trips or even you honeymoon. All you need to do is be savvy and money-smart when it comes to booking flights.

If your destination involves New York somewhere in the near future, this is your lucky day! You will find important tips right here in this article on how to book the cheapest flights to New York in order to save money and save your pockets from a burning hole!

A blessing in disguise is the fact that New York has several airports. So, you will be spoilt for choices! Why? Well, the more airports there are, the more choices you have to choose from. Thus, you can scout for the very best deal where you can save money.

One of the most popular airports is the JFK International Airport. It is the busiest airport in the USA. Located in Queens, New York, it is reachable by taxis and other mode of public transportations easily. But some do complain that the traffic in New York is simply horrendous. However, you can always opt for the subway. The important factor for you here is that this airport is home for many major airlines such as JetBlue Airlines, American Airlines and Delta Air Lines. So, if you are looking for the best deals you can compare the prices between these airlines to get the best offer.

When you seek the advice of most travellers who travel by air a lot, they would tell you to compare and contrast flight prices between varieties of airlines. More often then never, we make haste and just book the first flight that we see or come to mind. Take some time to go through the prices and special offers offered by different airlines. Also, if you are planning a vacation, try to book your flights and plan your holiday during non-peak season. That means, flying to New York somewhere near Christmas would cost you a whole lot more than flying there somewhere in the middle of spring.

Another tip to book  flights to New York is to book months in advance. If you already have a confirmed date for your business trip or honeymoon, book in advance. Flight prices increases by the bay or even week. So, by booking in advance not only will you have more options, you will also land the best deals.

Other airports that you can choose from are the LaGuardia Airport and Newark Liberty Airport. These airports are situated in New Jersey. But don’t let that fool you. You can always travel an hour from New Jersey to New York. Search packaged deals from the internet. Packaged deals offer you more for less. They are the best kind if you have limited money to spend.

The key to choosing and booking the cheapest flights to New York is to scout for prices. Compare and contrast between the many flights available. Choose the best deal that suits you. It also helps if you book your flights in advance. So, good luck!

Getting work experience before graduating

Hi everyone, sorry for the lack of updates. Since my brain has been compressed with so much academic stuff for the past few weeks, I would like to share how working during the holidays for the past two years has really given many benefits. Nowadays, in addition to good results, one of the most important things that employers look for is at least some work experience regardless of whether it is related to our field of expertise. In my humble opinion, it is quite important to work at least once before graduating from university.

After working, I understand better why this is so. Basically, with some work experience whatever it is, one can have a feel of what the working world is like. My first work experience really took me a few weeks to adjust, as I found the whole atmosphere different from university life. One of the first things learnt was how to work under superiors and that sometimes in work, it is really not up to you to say 'yes' or 'no'.

In addition, in real life work is actually kind of endless. It is not like an assignment, where it can be completed in one week. The work is ongoing, can be routine and get boring at times. Throughout the two work experiences, I managed to meet new people, make new friends and also meet people from different walks of life. It was a new experience learning how to relate to different people, and of course there were hitches at times due to differences. Nevertheless, I believe everyone has their own life principles, habits and beliefs  and the key to getting along is just to respect it even if we may disagree.

To sum it up, getting some work experience during the semester break not only kills boredom, but offers an experience that textbooks do not teach and money cannot buy. There is always so much to learn from different places, different people and the whole world outside the four walls.

Do check these out too :)
